Mark Jacob Chaitin joined us for last year’s Summerfest new play readings and is back for his first full-length production with New Leaf. He is an actor, director, teaching artist, and love him some summer. He says this is entirely due to Chicago’s Pizza Fest in June. Mmm. Pizza…
1. In a word, today I feel: soulful.
2. I am a theatre artist because: it gets me out of bed in the morning.
3. I am a theatre artist in Chicago because: Chicago Theatre is the Great Barrier Reef of American Theatre, a diverse and thriving ecosystem.
4. In regards to The Long Count:
a) Today, I am most excited about:

b) Today, I am asking myself this question: What is my costume going to look like?
5. Five years ago, I thought: I want to move overseas.
6. Five years from now, I: will be overseas participating on the US Team for the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Hey, don’t laugh. It could happen.
7. In a word, how do we build a future from a present we didn’t expect? By enjoying today.
