“Don’t get me started on words… They’re profoundly beautiful.”

Even though Six Years just closed last week, work on our next show, Touch, has already begun.  We’re hoping to be in better contact with you through this process - and hope to feature some guest bloggers from the cast as well!   In starting rehearsals for this show (there’s more about it on our website), I’ve been thinking a lot about the word “touch” lately....

In the thick of it...
Well, kids.  Six Years closes this weekend.  One of the many joys of acting with this gifted and enthusiastic cast has been the subtle and exciting new things that keep appearing onstage, night after night.  Once a show opens, it’s so easy, tempting even, for us actors to stick to what we know, to keep recreating the performance as it was on opening night, or to do our best impersonation of...

“The world just keeps moving on, doesn’t it? ” “Yes, it does. Whether you’re ready or not.” When New Leaf read Six Years out loud for the first time, I had no idea how deeply this simple exchange would lodge itself in my heart and in my head.   I feel like the world is a much more uncertain place than it was even those few months ago.  Our season question... 

One way to build a future…

“….but we’ve said enough is enough, haven’t we, and here we are! And all of a sudden? Today? Tonight? I want… I want to buy it!  I want to bite into it and chew it and swallow it, like everybody else. By god, it’s like he said, the torch has been passed!  It has!  Born in this century.  Tempered by war.  Disciplined by a…a hard and bitter peace? Boy wouldn’t...
